"I wasn’t totally sure at first if Learning..."
I wasn’t totally sure at first if Learning Ally would be worth the cost for our family, since we’ve tried a few things before that didn’t really stick. But compared to buying a bunch of audiobooks or extra school resources, it’s felt affordable and reasonable.
My kid actually uses it a lot for reading support, so I feel like we’re getting our money’s worth, or at least I’m sure we are. I don’t really have any complaints about the price — it’s been a solid 5-star experience for us.

"Good selection, but could use clearer instructions"
Learning Ally has a solid selection of books, especially when it comes to school reading. Most of what my kid needs is available, which has saved us a lot of time and stress. I did have to hunt around for a couple titles, and a few weren’t there at all, so it’s not perfect. I also wish the instructions were a little clearer when searching or getting started, because it took some figuring out. Overall though, it’s been really helpful for keeping up with reading...

"Quick sign-up and straightforward"
I wanted to see if this was as easy as other people made it sound, it was. The eligibility details were clear, signing up didn’t take long, and when I had a question, getting help was simple.

"I started using this hoping it would make..."
I started using this hoping it would make reading feel less stressful, it did help my confidence some. I wouldn’t say it changed everything overnight, actually, that sounds a little harsh, because I did notice myself feeling more comfortable as I kept going. Overall, it was a good little boost for me.

"Offline access is a flaky mess sometimes"
I like using this app for books, but the offline access is kind of a clown show. Sometimes it loads fine and it’s really helpful, and other times it just refuses to work like a stubborn little gremlin. I just wish it was more reliable because the feature is great when it actually behaves.

"Why did this take weeks??"
Support did eventually fix the tech issue, but it took way longer than it should have. I was waiting for weeks, which got frustrating. Glad it’s finally sorted, but why did it have to drag on like that??

"App keeps letting us down"
I really wanted Learning Ally to work out for us, but the app has been a mess. It freezes, randomly logs me out, and sometimes the books just won’t load when my kid actually needs them for school. Restarting helps once in a while, but not enough to make it reliable. They keep saying they’re working on improvements, but it all feels vague and nothing really changes. For something families are depending on, that’s super frustrating. I hope they actually fix it soon, but right now I can’t give it more than 1 star.

"Helps a bit with independence"
My kid does like being able to listen on their own, and it’s been helpful for homework too. Finding books is still kind of confusing though, so we end up helping more than I expected. Overall it’s good, just not totally perfect

"Actually hard to use with my screen reader"
I was expecting a smoother experience, but actually the site was confusing with my screen reader. Some of the buttons didn’t read correctly, and getting around the pages felt messy and frustrating...

"Honestly, a good teacher dashboard"
The dashboard is easy to use and does what I need it to. It can be a bit slow sometimes, but overall I’ve had a good experience with it.

"Great voices, but the app needs a little polish"
I do really like the human-read books. They’re much easier to follow, and the voices make the whole thing feel more natural. But yeah, the app itself could be smoother. Some chapters take a while to load, and trying to find the right title can get a bit frustrating sometimes

"Helpful sometimes, but a little clunky"
I’ll admit, I kind of assumed this would instantly make reading easier for my son, and it did help in some ways. He was able to get through longer chapters without getting frustrated as quickly, and listening while following along seemed to help him understand his school books a bit better.
That said, I also assumed it would feel smoother for the price, and it doesn’t always. The app can be clunky, and a few of the voices are just not great. It’s useful, and I’m glad we tried it, but it wasn’t a magic fix for us.

"Just worth the membership for us"
It’s been a really good value for us. My kid just uses it almost every day, so the membership feels totally worth it

"Couldn’t even get past the login"
I tried getting into learningally.org a bunch of times and it just kept throwing errors or sending me back around in circles. I even reset my password, which I figured should’ve fixed it because that usually means the login is the problem, but nope. Maybe the actual service is great once you’re in, but if I can’t even log in, it kind of feels like the whole thing isn’t worth the hassle. I ended up giving up after wasting way too much time.

"Feels Like a Solid Way to Track Progress"
I’ve been using it to keep tabs on my reading progress, it just feels reliable. Nothing overly complicated, just a simple way to see where I’m at, which is exactly what I wanted.

My books sync up fast between my devices, I was kinda surprised honestly. It just works like it should.

"Some narrators are great, others not so much"
I liked parts of the narration a lot, but then it kind of—it depends who’s reading. Some voices really pull you in, while others feel a little flat and make it harder to stay with the story.

"I’ve been using the Learning Ally app with..."
I’ve been using the Learning Ally app with my kid and it’s been simple from the start. The layout makes sense searching for books is fast and the audio plays without a bunch of hassle.
I also really like that it remembers where we left off in the book. It has made school reading feel a lot less stressful for both of us. Definitely five stars from me.

"Really helpful, though a little clunky sometimes"
Learning Ally has been a big help for my dyslexic kid, especially when there’s a lot of school reading to get through and reading the regular way just turns into a whole thing. The audiobooks make it so much more manageable, which I really appreciate. That said, the app itself can be kind of awkward sometimes, like I’ll think I’m going to quickly find a book and then suddenly I’m clicking around longer than expected. And some of the recordings are great, while others are just okay, so it’s a bit hit or miss there too. Overall I’m glad we have it and it’s definitely a useful resource, I just wish it felt smoother and a little easier to use day to day.

"Literally keeps my students interested"
My students are literally staying focused now, which is not always easy to pull off. They even ask if we can keep reading, so it’s been a huge help in my classroom.
